Almost 2 days down...

so, im starting to get settled in and enjoying the Bethlehem site. Though i still miss my site director, shelley, my ad, becca and the ada, laura, not to mention megan, jonny, cece, jackie, etc etc etc etc, i am starting to like it here more and more. i suppose it is all just an adjustment to a new location. so we are nearly done with the second day of class. I just have study hall left, where we will read another chapter of journey to the other side, as well as do an activity on base counting. then off to dinner, and i HOPE to finally get a pedicure with val. we have been driving around for days looking for a cheap place, and it looks like we finally found one, but it was closed. GRR. my toes desperately need a cleaning up, an exfoliation and a fresh coat of polish! anyhow, we are starting to make our weekend plans...it looks like going out friday, then saturday, getting up early and heading to the big apple, and sunday, heading to philly for july 4th. i hope the weather will hold out and cooperate so we can enjoy our weekend.

anyhow, i need to go make copies, etc etc before class begins again, but more later. though my blog entries have lacked any sort of meaning behind them, i think more importantly, this summer, im tracking a journey.

calm before the storm

so, we have nearly finished our training, and it was pretty much exactly the same as last year, only my co-teacher didn't arrive until today, and i have only talked to him for a few minutes. he seems very chill and relaxed, and im actually a lot more excited about it having met him than i was yesterday at this time.

i wonder if i either just had such a great time at PAL last year that i dont like BTH as much, or if i just haven't given it a real chance yet. it turns out that there is actually another guy here who lives in Lexington, and went to UK for his masters. how crazy is that? and then Val is here from last year, which is good. but i call us a "cali click" because we keep saying, "Well back at Stanford," and "last year...". I had a great site director, AD, ADA and co-teacher last year, not to mention that the rest of the staff was really cool, and i'm not sure about this group. but time will tell, and im sure it will end up being just as fun as last year. at least, i hope! but, i still miss stanford, although, not having to walk 30 minutes to class is a definite bonus!

anyhow, bloggers, i hope you are having a great SATURDAY (i didn't even realize it was saturday, and therefore overslept, nearly missing breakfast today.) kids come tomorrow, and im excited to meet them and get started!!

more from the lehigh valley soon.

a new adventure is a turn away...

so, first, i know it is has been a really long time since i last wrote on my blog. time had a way of getting away from me, but here it is, summer again, and i've freshened up the blog and am about to head on a new adventure that i will blog out here.

im headed back to cty, but this year to bethlehem, which is just a bit outside of philly. im actually really excited, but at the same time, im already missing stanford. what will i do without my weekly dose of "baby give it up"?? lots of people i know are going back, and im going to miss them, but im excited for a new place and to see how it compares. im also excited to do some exploring in philadelphia and new york city, and to head to visit becca for july 4th in boston.

this year, the internet is free, and i won't have to steal a random wifi signal, which will be good, so check back for frequent updates. heres to a wonderful adventure...and a great summer.
